The Bookend Society
A planned gift to Planet Word ensures the future of the museum and may further your financial goals. The Bookend Society was created in order to sustain the museum in the future, while continuing to provide innovative experiences and programs.
According to the dictionary description for bookend: one of two usually similar things that begin and end something and stabilize things. Your support provides a firm foundation for future generations to continue enjoying Planet Word, and to inspire a love of language and increase literacy, the foundation of a strong modern democracy.
There are many ways to give:
- Bequests by will or trust
- Gifts of appreciated stock
- Gifts through IRA distributions
As a member of the Bookend Society, you will be invited to periodic special member-only events and programs. Unless you prefer to remain anonymous, Planet Word will honor you in the annual report. Please let us know if you have already included Planet Word in your will or other estate plans so we can welcome you to The Bookend Society.
Please call 202-918-6147 or email us at [email protected] to learn more.
From our Joking Around gallery: A will is a dead giveaway.
“I’ve always been interested in language. My father read or spoke over eight languages, and I finally caught up to him. My wife, Bonnie, and I were impressed with Ann Friedman’s vision of reviving the historic Franklin School and creating a museum dedicated to language. My living trust contains a bequest that will help ensure that the museum remains accessible to all.”
