The Poetry of Black Oak

Friday, October 21, 2022 | 7:00 p.m.

$0 | Friedman Family Auditorium

When spoken word poet Harold Green III went viral on Instagram for his odes celebrating the power and beauty of Black women, he knew he had to collect his poems in a more permanent form. So Black Roses was born, his gorgeously illustrated new collection of tributes to contemporary Black women, from activists to artists to athletes. Now he has followed up with Black Oak, odes that honor the Black men he admires most. Join Harold Green in conversation with Mazi Mutafa, founder of Words, Beats, and Life.

Black Oak: Odes Celebrating Powerful Black Men and Black Roses: Odes Celebrating Powerful Black Women will be available for sale and signing.
