Come meet Victor D.O. Santos, Brazilian-American author of the picture book What Makes Us Human, published by UNESCO in honor of the Decade of Indigenous Languages. Already translated into 27 languages, What Makes Us Human reads like a riddle, and language itself is the sneaky narrator that doesn’t reveal itself until the very last page! Santos will be available in the Spoken World gallery 1–4 p.m. to sign copies, play a language trivia game, and give away free posters featuring a variety of languages — while supplies last. Hardcover copies of the English edition will be available for purchase in our gift shop, Present Perfect.
