Building Literacy Resource Fair: Making School-to-Home Connections

Saturday, October 04, 2025 | 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

$5 - $15 | Mansard Room

It’s the first quarter of the school year, and reading progress is top of mind for many families with students in elementary school.

Join Planet Word, the International Dyslexia Association, and dyslexia specialist Dustin Tamsen for the Building Literacy Resource Fair. This event kicks off Dyslexia Awareness Month and provides guidance for families of young learners who may be struggling with reading.

Interact with local literacy professionals and organizations dedicated to supporting students with dyslexia and learning differences. Families will enjoy hands-on demonstrations, expert advice, raffle prizes, pastries, and a kids’ corner. Plus, take home free LitKits filled with tools to make reading practice fun.

This is a chance to connect with experts, discover community resources, and learn practical strategies to help your K–5 reader thrive. While you’re here, don’t miss Planet Word’s kid-friendly, engaging galleries (museum admission must be reserved separately).

Please consider donating to help Planet Word support accessible community programming. If you have questions or concerns about accessibility needs, contact [email protected].
