Join Planet Word for our 3rd annual Juneteenth Literary Jubilee & Black Author Book Fest and celebrate a rich community of authors and language arts experts all day long! Award-winning poet, author, and Hip-Hop educator, Tony Keith, Jr. returns as our special guest MC and will also discuss his latest book, Knucklehead.

This year’s theme: “Celebrating Words, Rhythm & Flow” spotlights local DMV authors who center rhythm and melody in their work — through poetry, storytelling, or reflections on music and culture. Get to know and support amazing authors who will be selling books, engaging in conversation, and offering personalized book signings throughout the day! Stick around to enjoy additional enriching and lively experiences including arts and crafts, Planet Word Library collection spotlights, live music, and delicious bites and refreshments. Registration for this event also includes access to Planet Word’s galleries.

All Day — Arts and Crafts (2nd Floor Classrooms)
10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. — Black Author Book Fest (Mansard Room)
3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. — Versatile Soundzz West African Drum Ensemble Performance (Friedman Family Auditorium)
4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. — Karaoke Kickback Lounge (Mansard Room)
