Join Maryanne Wolf, the best-selling author of Reader, Come Home, and Planet Word’s Journalist-in-Residence Emily Hanford as Wolf presents Beauty, Threat, and Choice: The Deep Reading Brain in a Digital Culture. Wolf’s thought-provoking talk provides a description of the deep reading brain’s development as the foundation for a moderated discussion demonstrating the impact of digital/screen reading on the perception of beauty, the development of empathy, and the extraordinary importance of critical thinking and reflection in a digital age. Following the talk, Hanford will guide the audience through a Q&A.
